Break out Revival

“It's time for your breakout”

its-time-for-your-breakout

Tonight I would like to take a look at how a few people who came out some situations.

I want to look at a few people who broke out and broke through.

Peter came out of Prison – Acts 12:5-8

So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance.

Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.

Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him.

  • Peter was locked up in prison and was about to be brought to trial by Herod.
  • The Bible says the Church was earnestly praying for Peter and suddenly an Angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell.
  • The Angel struck Peter on the side and woke him up. The Angel to Peter “Quick, get up!” and the chains fell off Peters wrists.
  • How many know that we serve a God who answers prayer? Tonight I have a question for God’s Anointed Now Generation. Do we have a generation here tonight that knows how to get a hold of God?

When Peter found himself locked in prison. He found himself in a situation where he needed a breakthrough.

Today we have a generation that is in need of a breakthrough. Today there a young people who find themselves in situation and circumstances and they are desperate for a way out.

It is no secret that young people are hurting today and they are looking for answers.

They are involved in gangsterism, young people are feeling hopeless and depressed, young people are involved in drug addiction, and young people are taking their own lives.

There is a need in this generation for someone to stand in the gap and bring them out through prayer.

Now I know we have some young people here tonight who know how to get excited. Can I hear an amen?

Now I know we have some young people here tonight who know how to praise the Lord.

Now I know we have some young people here tonight who know how to get loud for Jesus.

Also what we need here tonight are some young people who know how to get a hold of God. Young people who are willing to stand in the gap for a generation that finds themselves in prison.

Now when I say prison I am not talking about pollsmoor, but I am talking about young people who are bound up and looking for a way out.

  • They are bound up by depression
  • They are bound up in drug addiction
  • They are bound in prostitution
  • They are bound in suicidal thoughts
  • They are bound in violence

Just like Peter needed the Church to stand in the gap for him, I wonder if God’s Anointed Now Generation is willing to stand in the gap for a generation that needs our prayers.

Here is a quote by Thomas Watson:
The angel fetched Peter out of prison, but it was prayer fetched the angel.

How many young people would like to see your friend’s breakout of what they are going through?

How many would like to see your family member breakout of what they are going through?

How many would like to see the hurting young person breakout of what they are going through.

Well guess what G.A.N.G. it just might be our prayers that bring them out of what they are going through.

So tonight if I can encourage the G.A.N.G. that there is a generation waiting on the other side of your prayers.

  • So with that in mind not only do we need young people who rap good, sing good, dance good, shout good and run around good, but we also need some young people who know how to stand in the gap for this generation.
  • Not only do we need young people that are willing to stand in the for our generation, but we also need some young people who are willing to respond to the need.

Joseph came out of his prison because of a need – Genesis 41:14

14 So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh.

15 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”

16 “I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.

Now let’s take a look at what’s happening here.

We have Joseph who is locked up in a prison.

Then we have a Pharaoh who has a dream, but needs someone to interpret it.

He finds out that Joseph has interpreted dreams before.

So Pharaoh calls for Joseph to be brought out of prison because he wants Joseph to interpret his dream.

What is so powerful about this situation is that Joseph found himself in prison, but the way he broke out was because of a call to meet a need.

Can I bring it home to you and I?

There may be some of us here tonight who find ourselves in a situation where we are stuck, stagnate or satisfied. We can call it a spiritual prison.

Our spiritual life is not what it used to be

Our fire for God has come to a barely surviving flame

Our passion for souls has been put on the back burner

Our hunger for God is not like it used to be

And we find ourselves in a spiritual condition that we just can’t seem to get out of.

Well let me encourage us with this.

Just like Pharaoh had a need for his dream to be interpreted, there are young people in our world today who need direction for their life.

Just like Pharaoh called upon Joseph because he had interpreted dreams before, so it is with you and I. Young people are calling on us to show them the way.

The only thing is that Joseph found himself in prison and the need called him out.

There may be some young people here tonight who were on fire for God at one time, but now you find yourself in a spiritual slump.

Well just like the need to interpret Pharaoh’s dream pulled Joseph out of prison, maybe that is what it is going to take to pull you out of your slump.

There is a generation in our world today that is in need of someone to help them figure out their situation.

And just like God has done it for you before, he wants us to help someone else get out of their situation, but it will be kind of hard for us to do that from a prison or a spiritual slump.

So if I can encourage someone tonight who may find themselves in a spiritual slump, there is a generation that is calling for you to come out of that situation and help them find an answer to life.

There are young people who have tried everything that the world has to offer, but they are still not satisfied.

Just like we see in

Genesis 41:8
Now it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled, and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt and all its wise men. And Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them for Pharaoh.

Pharaoh told the magicians his dreams, he told the wise men his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them: Egypt’s magicians were impressive, yet they couldn’t interpret the Pharaoh’s dreams.

Doesn’t that sound like young people today? Looking for fulfillment in everything the world has to offer, but they are still not satisfied.

Trying the best the world has to offer, but still end up empty.

Well just like Pharaoh tried everything Egypt had to offer and came up short, that is what our generation is like today. Trying the world but still coming up empty.

It wasn’t until he called out Joseph from the prison that he got the answer to his dream.

Can I encourage someone here tonight that might find themselves in a situation that is challenging?

There is a generation that is waiting for you and I to bring them the good news.

Maybe the way out of that prison or situation is by hearing the call of this generation and responding to the need.

Just like Pharaoh called for Joseph, this generation is calling for you.

It’s time to come out.

Joseph had interpreted dreams before, but he was in a prison.

Maybe you were on fire for God and using your gifts before, but now you find yourself in a spiritual slump.

Joseph was able to come out of the situation he was in, because he was willing to use what he had to meet needs in his generation.

There is one more group of people that broke out, that I would like to take a look at tonight.

Turn with me to the book of Acts 16:22-26

22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. 23 After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. 24 When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose

Paul and Silas came out through praise.

Paul and Silas found themselves in a situation that only God could get them out.

Now we have looked at a few people who found themselves in a prison.

One came out through the prayers of the saints.

Another came out because of the need.

Paul and Silas came out in a different way. They came out through praise.

I don’t know who I am talking to tonight, but maybe your praise is going to be the key to unlock that situation you may find yourself in.

Tonight you may find yourself in a situation that only God can bring you out of.

Well the Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people. In other words when you and I start praising and worshiping God He shows up.

Is there anybody here tonight that needs God to show up in your situation?

I dare you to praise Him in the midst of the circumstance.

  • You may be a young person going through it at school
  • You may be a young person going through it at home
  • You may be a young adult going through it at your job

Well just like Paul and Silas began to praise God and God showed up.

I want to encourage you tonight that if you begin to praise God and exalt Him above your situation He will show up and show out.

Now I am not just talking about praising Him at Church when there is a lot of people and they get to see your moves, but I am talking about knowing how to praise God when on one is around and you are going through the fire.

I am talking about some young people who know how to through your own praise party in the midst of the prison or situation we may facing.

Are there any young people like that in The House of the Lord?

You say I am going to praise my way out of this one.
