First of all I would like to say Good Afternoon on this beautiful Wednesday and thanks for tuning in Today on our show we have a young man that has been changed by the power of God as a matter of fact you might have heard him been referred last week by our guests that was praying for their son

Lord we believe our children going to come to their senses like the prodigal son when he sat in the pig stile God I pray where my children are in the pig stile where they may be I believe that you going to open their eyes the scales are going to be removed from their eyes and they going to come to their senses and one day Pastor Come on preach
One day Charlton picked up the phone and he said Dad I can’t carry on like this anymore Dad I need help and I always told my kids I’m putting you out but whenever you want to change, the day you want to change I’ll be there for you
Alright Ladies and gentlemen well guess what we have Charlton on the show today
Charlton how are you feeling today?
Hi Pastor, thank you very much for having me. It is a honor and privilege to be here I’m just blessed to be able to be here and thank you very much for having me on the show.
Amen It is good to have you here so alright last week we had your parents on the show they were sharing how you were involved in drug addiction and they were praying for you interceding and God came through God touched you, saved you how did you end up changing?
Well it was a very long process pastor I started very young because I grew up in the church so all my life all I knew was church, church, church My father as you heard last week my parents were ministers in the church where we came from so I grew up in church but there came a time when I was about a teenager where and the weird thing Pastor is that nobody actually offered me anything, so somehow I went and got my own things like I started cigarettes nobody offered me a cigarette and even with drugs it all started with marijuana with dagga but nobody offered me these things and it escalated from there I did ectascy, from ecstacy, LSD, from LSD and eventually I ended up started using tik so from there everything just spiriled and it was not that I just went it was a process because I was still in college

I studied IT, I studied marketing, I studied to be a chef and along this time I was doing drugs and doing college so it was a mixed vibe
Wow so you were in college but at the same time you were involved in drug addiction
Yes that’s true
Wow that’s heavy
So how did you end up changing? What happened?
I could never keep a job I had like 12 jobs in 12 months so I could never keep a job because of the drug I would steal from work and I ended up in the streets as you heard my parents they kicked us out and that was part of the process where it changed because it was true what my father said that tough love helps and one thing that always stood out to me was that my father whenever I would see him he would always speak life into me, good stuff
He would always say remember the word that went out upon your life remember you going to be a man of God This is just a process and there came a time it was about 2010 it was December 2010 and myself and my brother we were smoking together, we were living together so we were smoking together but we had a fight we had lots of fights as brothers have ja we have lots of fights but there was something different happened. We had a fight and somehow I was so fragile I was so thin that he cracked my rib yoh

and from there he went out he went to go buy more drugs but I was there and I was sitting alone in the house and Something just came upon me and said this is not for you wow this is not for you, I have more for you and as you heard I called my father and said daddy I can’t anymore
Wow and
Miraculously, 2 days later I found myself in the Victory Outreach Mens’ Recovery Home and that is where my life was changed God interrupted my life and I was never the same again

Alright ladies and gentlemen live back right here on the Rise up Radio Segment hearing the testimony of a young man that has been changed by the power of God so Charlton you mentioned Victory Outreach recovery home what is that and how did God change your life in that home?
Pastor I am really truly grateful for the Victory Outreach Men Recovery Home because that’s where God really grabbed hold of my life and I surrendered myself to God because I could not do it on my own I was in a rehab before but the recovery home is not just a rehab it not a programme it is where they believe in discipleling and training men to help them overcome the process because like for myself it took me 12 years to find myself where I was
Wow
but there was people, staff that was investing in my life that was telling me if they can do it then I could do it there was models that was teaching me the word of God, teaching me how to pray, teaching me how to read the Word of God, teaching me how to become a man of God so it’s not just a programme it is a life on life discipleship and that what really helped me there is people that could relate to me and not just people that would speak but people that understood what I was going through because they also went through the same process I went through so it’s more than a programme I believe it’s a tool from God that God has used that God has sent to Cape Town not only Cape Town and not only Cape Town but there is Mitchells Plain, Johannesburg, Pretoria but firstly it had to take me to be open

I had to really want to change and when I went into the Home the first thing I said is that I’m not here to play jokes I not here to just make I always said when I’m finished smoking I want to really be finished but I needed God because I knew about God but I never knew God
Wow, wow that heavy so you had an experience and an encounter with Jesus in that Victory Outreach Home
Yes I did in the sanctuaries I had an encounter with Jesus right there

Ok now we have heard how your life was, we heard the process that you went through to change,
How is God using your life today?
Well, today I find myself as one of the youth leaders in the Gods’ Anointed Now Generation
Ok
and also I find myself I have a full time job come on so I’m working at the moment God has blessed me with a job and I also found myself as I mentioned as one of the youth leaders and we are the God’s Anointed Now Generation and we believe that God can use young people right now they don’t have to wait until they a certain age but God can use them to impact this generation because God is raising up a generation and we don’t just have pizza parties
Come on
and marshmallows and play games but we really believe in discipling young people to take a stand and take their place within this generation because God is going to do something amazing in Cape Town and throughout Africa through the young people because Cape town is a very young city and we really believe that God is going to use the young people to make a major, major impact, to make a change in the city of Cape Town.
Wow that is awesome so like God restored everything before you were studying in university you have the skills to be a chef, got caught up in drug addiction, got your life restored, now you got a full time job, come on somebody you a youth leader in the church you a preacher of God’s Word come on I know that’s an inside scoop right there powerful preacher that is amazing because of the prayers of a mom and dad
Yes that’s true
You know what if you out there listening you can really feel the presence of the Lord in this place and you might be a mom, you might be a dad and your son or daughter might be in a situation where you feel there is no hope don’t give up mom, don’t give up dad because we have living proof right here in the studio that we serve a miracle working God and Charlton what we're gonna do is we're gonna go into another little break and then when we come back I want you to minister to some families out there or maybe even a son that's caught up in drug addiction maybe even was brought up in church there might be there in university right now studying like you , you were in university but you were still involved in drug addiction there may be someone that's in your shoes right now when we come back I want you to share from your heart minister to them and say a word of prayer can we do that

Charlton there may be a young man out there right now or a mom or a dad that’s praying for their son. They may be feel like man is my son ever going to change or there might be a young man out there involved in college, going to school but he finds himself in a situation, wondering if he can get out.
What would you share from your heart to some young man out there or family members?
Firstly, to the mother and the father I would like to say do not give up praying for your son or for your daughter because there is truly power in prayer I am a living testimony that God really answers the prayer of a mother and a father and I’m standing here today because of prayer and also if you a young man or a young girl that out there that is on college or grew up in church or even if you addicted to drugs or even if you just lost I just want to encourage you that don’t give up, there is a purpose for your life and God has a plan for you He has an amazing plan for your life and there is a purpose and there is a plan for you as I mentioned but I just want to tell you do not give up and I know you may feeling like you are stuck but I want to tell you that there is more, there is more, there is more, there is more
And I just want to say a prayer for you
Father, I come before You this afternoon God and I just lift up every single family member, every single mother that is praying for her son, every single father and every single young person, be it a girl or a young man I lift them up before You and I pray God that You are able to do an amazing thing within their life God, You are able to turn their situation around. For that mother and that father I pray that You encourage them to never to give up because the prayer of the righteous availeth much and as Your word says that me and my house shall serve the Lord and I pray for that young person, I pray father God that the plan that You have for them is not to harm them but to prosper them God I pray God by Your Spirit, it not by might it is not by power but it’s by Your Spirit says the Lord and that You will draw them into Your house. As they hear the sound God that You will begin to minister to their lives God, that You will begin to speak to their lives God, You begin to change them
